Please join us this Tuesday, September 21st from 6-7 pm at the Imani Garden for an informational meeting about our Chicken Apprenticeship Program. We will go over the basics of the program and an introduce our operation and flock. This is an introductory meeting, so feel free to stop by even if your not sure you can commit for the 3 month program.The bk farmyards Chicken Apprenticeship is designed to teach the basics of raising hens in the city and direct marketing eggs. The Apprenticeship will run for 3 months, and can be extended for additional months. Apprentices will spend 2 to 4 hours per week in the Imani Garden working with the hens, helping with the CSA and taking field trips. The Apprenticeship will include hands on leaning with Ms. Ayer and Ms. Murphy, independent work with the hens, independent readings and explorations, and field trips.
