Want to keep chickens in the City? Want a little more experience?

whether you want to keep you own flock in the future, want to learn the basics, brush up on your chicken wrangling skills or you just want to spend some nice time with our friends..

We are now accepting applications for Spring Chicken Apprentices!

The BK farmyards Chicken Apprenticeship is designed to teach the basics of raising hens in the city. The Apprenticeship includes hands on leaning with Bee Ayer, independent work with the hens, independent readings and explorations, and field trips.

The Apprenticeship runs for 3 months starting April 14th, and can be extended for additional months. Apprentices spend about 4 hours per week in the Imani Garden, between workshops, working with the hens and helping with the CSA. Apprenticeship meetings will be Thursdays from 5:30-7pm.

Please fill out an application (found here) and return it by April 5th.
