2012 Chicken Apprenticeships!
The BK Farmyards Chicken Apprenticeship is designed to teach the basics of raising hens in the city and direct marketing eggs.
The 2012 Apprenticeship will run for 3 months (May 31 to August 30), and can be extended for additional months. The apprenticeship will meet weekly on Thursdays at 5:30, and apprentices will schedule their own independent hours with the chickens.Apprentices will spend about 4 hours per week in the Imani Garden (Dean Street & Schenectady Avenue) working with the hens, helping with the CSA and taking field trips. The Apprenticeship includes hands on learning with the current chicken keepers, independent work with the hens, independent readings and explorations, and field trips. FIND OUT MORE HERE
