City Chicken Workshop Series

This past Sunday about 50 people gathered at the Imani garden for the first workshop in our City Chickens Series. It was a perfect day for a workshop in the garden, sunny and not to warm; plus we were treated to live music from a band next door. The free workshop, "Introduction to City Chickens" covered the basic needs of laying hens in the city, including feed, shelter, enterntainment and space requirements. We also discussed the challanges and joys of having chickens in community gardens. We sampled some fresh eggs from our hens, and compared them to bodega eggs. At then end of the workshop we learned proper ways of catching and holding the birds.

Please join us every 3rd Sunday from 2-4pm for more City Chicken Workshops.
